Winter Sports Preview: Boy’s & Girl’s Bowling

BOY’S BOWLING

Last year’s the boy’s bowling team finished in 2nd place with a league record of 41-15 and 51-21 record overall. Coached by Don Stadnycki, also known as Coach Saddle, the Knights are looking to win the Continental division.

Key Losses: Tyler Roetman and Paul Malack

Key Returners: Steven Gerhart, Brandon Peel, Ryan Marrone and Ryan Lowery

Key matches will be against Pennridge, Norristown and Plymouth Whitemarsh

What Coach Saddle Said: “This season will be very competitive and we should be one of the favorites with our versatile lineup.”

What Senior Ryan Marrone Said: “I’m looking forward to having a lot of fun this season with the team and doing my best this year. I feel great about the team, we have some really good new people that are doing well so far, so it should be a really good season.”

GIRL’S BOWLING

The girl’s bowling team ended last year’s season in 4th place with a league record of 25-31 and 29-43 overall. “This season should be fun and challenging with every match,” added Coach Saddle as the starting team returns as more experienced competitors ready to win.

Key Losses: none

Key Returners: Rebecca Murray, Kristina Turner, Gabby Verrillo, Lauren Marrone and Kelci Beatty.

Key matches will be with defending champs Upper Moreland, along with other strong teams in Pennridge, Plymouth Whitemarsh, and Norristown.

What Coach Saddle Said: “The Maidens are vastly improved and look to move up in the standings with the other veteran teams.”

What Junior Lauren Marrone Said: “I’m looking forward to doing a lot better personally and being able to help out the team more. This season should be really good…we seem to be starting off strong and are having a lot of fun.”
