Spring Sports Preview: Women’s Lacrosse Looking to Take Back Title

The North Penn Girls Lacrosse team is looking forward to a successful 2013 season, after finishing last year with an overall record of 14-6 after losing the Suburban one title for the first time since 2009. This year the Maidens, lead by talented goalie Jenna Stover and mid-fielder Hannah Young, look to guide a very young team.

Coach: Jami Wilis Behm

Coaching Experience: 11 years at North Penn

Promising Newcomers: Brittany Tyson (12), Ashley Nelson (12), Megan McAllister (12), Juilianna Hill (11), Maddie McClure (10)

Key Returning Players: Hannah Young (12), Kaitlyn Suzuki (11), Ashley Durham (11), Gabby DiDomizio (11) , Jenna Stover (12), Emily Schultz (10)

Key losses to last years graduation: Brenda McDermott, Rachel Shaw, Aubrie Stouffer, Emilie Ikeda

Coaches Statement: “Our expectation is to take back the suburban one title. Last year was the first time we had lost since 2009, but you know we are a very young team. A lot of times we could have three quarters of the field with freshman, sophomores, and juniors so we need to keep working hard everyday.”
