Editorial: Trump’s flaws too much to look past

From the very moment Donald Trump announced his candidacy, it was no secret he held very little knowledge of politics; however, Trump did bring to the table his rather impressive resume of TV productions, skillful business tactics, and wealth. He ingeniously succeeding to stir Americans up with his controversial comments about women, people of color, Muslims, and illegal immigration. From that moment on, it was very clear what Donald was getting at– his lack of political experience made his viewpoints twisted and cynical, resulting in lack of actual political reasoning for his absurd statements and irrational thought process.

Donald Trump’s careless banter is what makes him unfit to be commander in chief of this country, His racist statements undermine what it truly means to be American. He refers to Mexicans as rapists, drug lords, criminals, killers, and job stealers, when in all reality, Trump is the real killer-  verbally assaulting minorities, then dodging the bullet and claiming he has Mexican and minority friends. Unacceptable.

Islamophobia. Call it what you want, but it’s the raw truth; we cannot have a leader who is convinced all Muslims are terrorists and a part of ISIS. A ban on Muslims has to be the most outlandish idea ever conceived. Again, Trump taking his own personal, racist opinion and using it in a cynical unacceptable way to convince the rest of America to side with him, and portray all Muslims as horrible people, which is just untrue.

Being disabled is a sad truth, and those like Donald Trump who are fortunate to be born with no mental or physical delays, still find a way to mock those who need a little extra help. It’s a disgrace; a president is supposed to be a role model to civilians across the country, and a hero to our youth. However, when mocking Serge Kovalesk, a reporter with a disability, his true colors began to show, and the true mean spirited, selfish man he is came out.

God forbid you challenge Donald Trump; just like he degrades woman, he has no issue degrading someone who comes against one of his ideas.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but when the beholder is Trump, and we’re talking specifically about women, beauty is not something we very often come across. He enjoys slandering women; one of the most infamous and degrading comments of his was, “grab em by the ****.” How could America elect someone so insensitive to represent us? This joke has gone too far. He belittles woman, and could not stand that Hillary, a strong independent woman had him in a corner, and at some points beat him at his own lewd game.

Now that we will be referring to Donald as President Trump, we cannot ignore the comments and slander he has thrown at people during his campaign. All we can hope for is that our president surprises us, and unifies the people, and truly does make America, which is already great, even greater.
