With both backpacks and game faces on, our very own Knight Crier staff writers take on the hallway crowd.

Cydney Lee, Ryan Bryson, and Taylor Wooley

This week, our Knight Crier panel of experts debate the question that beleaguers every North Penn student: how do you get from B pod to K pod in four minutes or less?

SENIOR PERSPECTIVE: Cydney Lee
Is it possible? Yes . . . if you’re running. Honestly, if I’m in B-pod and I know my next class is in K-pod, I don’t even make an effort to make it to class on time. Whichever hallway you take, the E-pod clog is inevitable and getting caught up in that maelstrom of robotic students will already waste a minute or two. Usually teachers will let you slide if they know you’re coming from far away, so why not take advantage of the few extra minutes? The only time you should really hustle when going between the two pods is when you have a major test. Besides that, why bother. Excuse the nonchalant tone of this paragraph but I’m a senior, what do you expect?

JUNIOR PERSPECTIVE: Ryan Bryson
Is getting to K-pod from B-pod possible? Sure. Is it practical? No. Unless you want to jog all the way across the school and come in panting like you just ran the pacer test, I wouldn’t recommend it. Plus, not only do you want to take your time wandering to your next class, people are going to try to talk to you in the hallways. If you’re attempting to travel from B-pod to K-pod, expect no distractions or you have no realistic way of getting there. When I was a sophomore, I didn’t believe that it was truly impossible to get from any point in this school to another, but after coming face to face with the E-pod clog and the zombies in the hallway going at a sluggish pace, I realized that there are some points in this school that no matter what you do, you just won’t make it on time. The best bet is to try to get a permanent pass for the year and save your breath.

SOPHOMORE PERSPECTIVE: Taylor Wooley

I wouldn’t say it’s impossible, because if you sprint and make it through the flood of the other 3,000 people here at North Penn, then you might be able to make it right when the bell rings. The long excruciating journey down stairs, across ramps, and through the E-Pod stampede of people all coming straight at you tends to make it nearly impossible to make it in time. If you end up making it through E-Pod clog, that has most likely taken up two minutes of your time. Now you have about 30 seconds to get through two more hallways and into your class, if you aren’t running by this time, then you aren’t making it.
