TOWAMENCIN – Local elections have far reaching effects. In the wake of a national presidential election last November, it is easy to overlook the “off-year” races. But in the North Penn School District, four open seats on the school board, with only one incumbent running, makes November 4th a big day in the North Penn community.
The North Penn High School student news publication, The Knight Crier, will hold a candidates town hall forum Wednesday, October 15th, at 7pm in the NPHS auditorium, which will feature all eight candidates and a slate of question contributed by the community and crafted by the Knight Crier staff.
The forum will run approximately 90 minutes and will feature opening statements from all eight candidates, a series of questions posed to each team of candidates (Neighbors for Progress and North Penn United) and closing statements from each candidate. Knight Crier editors will moderate the forum.
In addition to the forum being a free event open to all community members, it will also air live on North Penn Television. This is the fifth candidates forum the Knight Crier will hold, having held previous events in 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023.
The Neighbors for Progress ticket includes Al Roesch, Koh Chiba, Christine Coyne, and Ken Keiser.
The North Penn United ticket includes Yanni Lambros, Jeff Eshleman, Victor Minnick, and Thomas Moyer.
