ENACT Club’s Electronics Recycling Day will be shocking

TOWAMENCIN – Technology has taken our world by storm, but now it’s our turn to use that technology to help save the world. North Penn High School’s ENACT Club invites the North Penn community to come together and make a difference, one electronic device at a time.

On November 9th, the club is partnering with PAR Recycle Works to collect any household appliances or other electronics most people would otherwise just throw away and recycle them instead.

“We wanted to have this event for the community to come out and to give their electronics a new life instead of just throwing them out and possibly contributing to the landfill,” explains ENACT Club co-president Hannah Nguyen.

PAR Recycling is an organization that specializes in recycling electronics and other, larger items. Not only do they make steps towards bettering the environment, they also employ people who have been incarcerated in the past, giving them a new start and a way to help out in the community. This event is a great way for the community to support this great organization along with North Penn’s ENACT Club.

“With everything environmental, I think it is all about the initiative. They are going to look at what they did, then want to go do more. Hopefully the event will get bigger and we can do it for years to come, which will do a lot for the community,” explains Hannah. Her dreams are big for the future of the ENACT Club and even bigger for the environment.

If you are interested in this event, gather any old electronic device with a plug from your house and bring it to S Lot of North Penn High School on Saturday, November 9th any time from ten in the morning until one in the afternoon. Most items can be recycled free of charge, but larger items like flat-screen televisions, air conditioners, and microwaves will require a fee.

The ENACT Club is also looking for students willing to volunteer for this amazing event, a great opportunity to receive service hours and to do your part for the environment. Sign up with the link below.
