Emmy night reflects new wave of Amazon and Netflix series

And The Emmys Go To…

The television industry celebrated a historic evening on September 17th, as the 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were broadcast on NBC. Hosted by Saturday Night Live Weekend Update anchors Michael Che and Colin Jost, the annual award show honored the very best performances in television from the past year. Some of the highlights of the night were the star studded opening number, with celebrities such as Kate McKinnon, Kristen Bell, and Andy Samberg singing “We Solved It!” while mocking diversity in Hollywood, and the moment of the night was when Glenn Weiss, winner of Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, proposed to his girlfriend in the middle of his acceptance speech.
