TOWAMENCIN – It is that time of year again, when a school year full of artistic talent is set to go on display for public viewing.

The North Penn Gallery of Art, featuring artwork created by students from K-12, is open to the public on Wednesday, May 23, and Thursday, May 24, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The North Penn Gallery of Art is an impressive show that features a multitude of media, including painting, photography, sculpture, computer animation, and more. Students will demonstrate their artistic skills, such as drawing and throwing on the potter’s wheel, during the show. The Gallery also includes the Senior Show, which features artwork created by seniors who have taken three or more art classes throughout their high school years, showing their dedication to the visual arts. It includes a reception for these seniors, their families, and friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the art pod of North Penn High School. Additionally, musical performances from district schools will occur in the evenings to delight your auditory as well as visual senses.

Donations to benefit the Senior Art Scholarship Fund are welcome. The scholarship is awarded to several seniors who will be pursuing art in college. Donations will be accepted at the art show. T-shirts and other merchandise with student-designed art show logos will be available to purchase. You may also purchase merchandise now by clicking on this link:  2018 Gallery at North Penn Shirt Fundraiser. This online campaign will end June 5, so get your gear now! All proceeds benefit the art scholarship. Additionally, you may opt to send a check made payable to NPHS Art Scholarship Fund via the district courier or mail to ATTN: Mike Werner, 1340 Valley Forge Rd., Lansdale, PA 19446. Please consider donating to this worthy cause.
