TOWAMENCIN- On Friday, April 8th, ninth graders from all three North Penn middle schools came together for the first time as the class of 2019 and visited the place they will call home for the next three years: North Penn High School.

Once the current freshmen got off their buses, they got a chance to meet some of their soon-to-be classmates before heading to the auditorium. Once in the auditorium, the students were informed of all the opportunities that exist at North Penn through videos about clubs ranging from NPTV to theatre to Accolade.

After the assembly, current North Penn students escorted the groups of freshmen around the school during a tour led them to different classrooms around the pods. This was followed by a presentation that went into a little more depth than the assembly, including video clips from events this year and told them about all the unique things here at North Penn

The freshmen seemed excited about coming to the high school and exploring all of the new activities that aren’t offered at the middle schools. “I wanna join the basketball team and win a state title,” said freshmen Corey Davis.

When asked about if they seemed worried about the large distance between classes, the ninth graders seemed optimistic.

“I’m not too worried, I don’t think walking from class to class is as bad as people say it is,” stated Davis.

Waking up a whole hour earlier is also a big change for the incoming freshmen, but they seemed okay with the tradeoff of getting out of school an hour earlier.

“I’m looking forward to going to a bigger school, and walking around the high school today just made me more excited,” said ninth grader Jung Min.
