LANSDALE – The North Penn School District (NPSD) Board of School Directors appointed Stephen B. Skrocki as the NPSD’s next Director of Business Administration. Skrocki will replace Robert Schoch who is retiring from the position in June.
“Steve will join North Penn in the middle of February, providing him an excellent opportunity to work with Bob Schoch, as well as giving him opportunity to meet staff and community members before the end of the school year,” said Curtis R. Dietrich, Ed. D., superintendent. Dietrich also explained that the controller position in the business department has been vacant since early October. Skrocki will temporarily take on some this position’s responsibilities until a replacement is hired and on staff, which is not expected to occur until late spring.
Skrocki has spent two decades working in public school business administration and most currently serves as the Assistant to the Superintendent for Business Administration at Upper Merion School District. Prior to that, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Penn Manor School District, Director of Business Affairs for the Wyomissing Area School District, Business Manager for the Penn Manor School District and Assistant Business Manager for Muhlenberg School District.
“I look forward to Steve joining North Penn as he brings an immense amount of experience,” continued Dietrich. “In addition to supervising the business department, Steve will oversee the majority of the operational side of the school district including transportation, facilities, school nutrition services and benefits, and he will also serve as school board secretary.”
During his 20-year career in public education, Skrocki has garnered numerous awards and served in several state-wide positions. His extensive experience includes budgeting, purchasing, union contract negotiations, investments, construction projects, food service, child accounting, transportation, maintenance and personnel. Skrocki holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Millersville University and a Master’s Degree in business administration from Kutztown University.
“I have worked side by with Steve on various county-wide financial matters and have always been extremely impressed with his intelligence, communication skills and outside-the-box ideas,” added Dietrich. “NPSD has recently faced a challenging fiscal reality both aggressively and innovatively thus ensuring a strong, robust, secure school district. Steve is an excellent choice to continue our commitment to fiscal responsibility.”
