Marching Knights Win National Championship

Marching+Knights+Win+National+Championship+

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The North Penn Marching Knights traveled to Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium inAnnapolis, MD this past Saturday where they topped 19 other bands in competition and were crowned the 2011 USSBA Group 4 Open National Champions.  The Marching Knights also received awards for Best Music Performance and Best Visual Performance.

The weekend victory completes a trifecta of success for the Marching Knights who also claimed victories at James Madison Univeristy earlier this fall and just last week captured the State Championship in West Chester.

“It’s easy to take success for granted, but this was clearly a hard fought victory,” said Marching Knight Director Mr. Mike Britcher.  “Both the state championship victory last week and this victory were decided by a tenth of a point. I am incredibly proud of them.”

The Marching Knights will return to Crawford Stadium for Friday night’s football game vs Neshaminy and will hit the streets of Lansdale on Saturday afternoon, November 17 as they march in Lansdale’s annual holiday Mardi Gras Parade.
