Pre-Game Party Kicks off Homecoming Game

Pre-Game+Party+Kicks+off+Homecoming+Game

TOWAMENCIN – Friday October 21 North Penn’s SGA hosted its first ever pre Homecoming game party.  The event was held in the new courtyard near the bus circle. For the price of $20 students received a homecoming t-shirt, a game ticket, food, and live music.

The t-shirt, which was Carolina blue with a custom pre-game party logo, received generally positive reviews from students.

“I liked the shirt a lot, especially the logo and colors. It was a good part of the deal,” said senior, Dom Braccia.

The music was supplied by local high school band King Cold, consisting of members from this years senior class. Grayson Holladay plays bass, Ben Kloss plays lead guitar, Alex Bauer plays drum/percussion, and Pat Farrell sings and plays guitar. “Kind of a Spinal Tap thing,” in the words Farrell.

As with any party, most people were concerned with the food. SGA chose Ted’s Montana grill to cater the event.

“We were just looking at places that are local and one thing about Ted’s Montana that’s unique about them is they don’t freeze any of their food. So all their food is fresh,” stated SGA president Dylan Eiger.

Students were given the choice between a cheeseburger, barbeque chicken sandwich, and a prime rib sandwich. On top of that they were given homemade potato chips, a brownie, and the choice of either Rosenberger ice tea or lemonade.

“[The potato chips] were good, not too salty,” said senior Amanda Torhus

Perhaps one of the only shortcomings about the food was that there was not enough.

“It was tasty but there wasn’t enough of it,” said senior Daniel Gross.

However, overall the event went well.

“It went really well. We had bumps when we were starting to set up, but for the first year its actually going really well. It was a lot of work planning and coordinating with the food and the facilities, but it was definitely worth all the work,” said Eiger.
