Key Club Unlocks Connections with Community

Preparations for another exciting year have begun for the 2011-2012 Key Club.  The club’s advisor, Mrs. Linda Law, and the Key Club Officers, led by seniors President Maria Poccia and Vice-President Katherine Ann have planned September 13 as the first meeting date for all interested students.

“We are looking forward to the upcoming year. We have a lot of great events scheduled and new procedures for meetings,” said Poccia.

The meeting on September 13 will be the first day for students to start handing in their $20 dues, as well as applications–which can be found by the Key Club display hanging outside the main office.

Need even more incentive to come out to the meeting?

“The first 100 students to pay their dues get a free NPHS Key Club t-shirt,” said Law. “We have all sizes.”

Students new to the building or unfamiliar with Key Club can check out their display at the Activity’s Fair coming up on Wednesday, September 14, or stop by the new Key Club website, designed by webmaster Danny Ziegler.

“We have a new website—www.nphskeyclub.wikispaces.com. Some of the new features include the ability to view all of the upcoming events with times, dates, and locations, review your hours online, download important documents, forms, and meeting minutes, and find officer contact information,” said Ziegler of the new website.

Events have started to appear on the Key Club notice board and website, and the Key Club encourages all students to sign up.

According to Vice President Ann, “We are always looking for new members and volunteers. If you have an interest in helping our school and our community, come out to a meeting and see what we have going on.”
