Dine in Style at Tex-Mex Connection

Olé!  Dining at Tex-Mex Connection is truly an experience. Every element of the restaurant leads you to feel as if you are dining during a Mexican fiesta.  Serving a wide variety of Mexican dishes, it is conveniently located on East Walnut Street in North Wales.  Tex-Mex is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, or simply to enjoy a nice meal out.

The festive décor of Tex-Mex Connection provides for an authentic Mexican and upbeat atmosphere.  The restaurant’s exterior is decorated with beautiful Aztec style murals that really catch your eye from the street.  Similar murals on the interior are accented with a variety of Mexican artifacts including bulls’ heads, sombreros, moroccos, and cacti plants.  Colorful chairs carved with various types of Mexican wildlife, fountains, and a background of catchy Mexican music adds to the theme.

The food was equally as impressive as the environment. Items ordered were chicken fajitas ($14.50), taco salad ($7.75), and Texas Tuna ($8.25). Served with sautéed onions and peppers, lettuce, cheese, pico de gallo, and sour cream, the chicken fajitas came to the table fresh and still sizzling.  The fajitas provided a delicious and filling meal for a great price.  Served in a large chalupa, the salad contained marinated chicken and the Restaurant’s homemade guacamole. Pan seared to perfection, the tuna was served over green vegetables covered in a sweet and spicy chilly sauce.  Both the tuna and the taco salad were definitely satisfying in taste, but were slightly lacking in size when compared to the fajitas. For dessert, the Apple Chimichonga ($5.25) had a perfectly delicious balance of apple and cinnamon covered in fried batter and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. All of the meals were served on fun Mexican-style plates, which made for a notable presentation.

The commendable service the restaurant offers includes immediate seating (regardless of the fact that it was Saturday night and we did not have reservations), clean restrooms, and personable waiters and waitresses.  Overall, The Tex-Mex Connection offers a fantastic casual dining experience, and definitely deserves a return visit.
