Knight Like- Forgetting “Wagon Wheel”

I like that the song “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker is finally out of my head. The song was great to listen to the first couple of times I heard it, but the radio playing it nonstop and me continuously picking the song on my IPhone caused it to be burnt into my brain. The song stuck with me everywhere I went; it followed me to school, it followed me into the shower, and it followed me to work. Everywhere I went and everything I did I would have the chorus of the song going off in the back of my brain. I tried to get rid it by playing other catchy songs and by turning off the radio anytime it came on. My efforts were of no use as I continued to hear the song in the back of my head. Finally, the song had left my head after 2 months of grueling through it. Lines like “Rock me momma like a Wagon Wheel” and “Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy momma rock me” no longer run through me and cause me to sing along to a song that I just don’t enjoy anymore. I like songs that are catchy and easy to listen and like but when they get stuck into my head there is nothing worse than that, so I like that it is finally out of my head.

Knight Dislike- Advertisements

It happens every year. I’m sitting down on my couch, watching the one of the best sporting event in the world, March Madness. 64 teams all vying for the same thing, to be called national champions. Then the game goes away. All I start hearing is about something called a Flatizza and Burger King’s version of a Big Mac. Then I hear about it again, and again, and about 100 times more than I would have liked to. I get it advertisers; you want to make some money off of your food-craving basketball-loving audience. Unfortunately, though, hearing some dork yell “Chris Webber!” at the top of his lungs like he’s seen a ghost isn’t on my top priority of things to look at during my March Madness experience. No wonder it’s called March Madness, because it’s maddening that more people know the phrase “NAPA Know-How” over the names of the players and teams. They’re inundated with the commercials just as much as the games, sometimes even more so. That should not be the way we watch one of the best sporting events of the year.
