It has been a busy October for members of North Penn High School’s JROTC,

On October 8, Major Miller, Cadet Major Thorson, Cadet Colonel Blase, and Cadet 2nd Lieutenant Sultana attended a Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) meeting to talk about the JROTC program and the positive impact the program has had on their lives. All three cadets present received the DAR award by distinguishing themselves through outstanding leadership, honor, courage, service and patriotism.  The DAR program has supported the NPHS JROTC program for over ten years and the meeting was a wonderful collaboration between programs and generations to discuss the continued need to participate in community service as well as the education of patriotism.

Despite the prediction of rain, Montgomery Township went forward with their annual Autumnfest celebration on October 10th.  The JROTC cadets volunteered in setting up the various events and helping the vendors.  Cadets also participated in opening ceremonies by  Posting the Colors for the township.  Cadets enjoyed helping their community as well as participating in the numerous activities throughout the day.
