LANSDALE – The North Penn School District (NPSD) is in the midst an exciting week full of events to both celebrate our North Penn pride and honor those whom have left a legacy of excellence and achievement here at NPSD.

Starting Monday, October 5th, North Penn High School (NPHS) kicked off its annual spirit week leading up to the Homecoming Football Game on Friday, October 9th against the Souderton Indians! North Penn students were encouraged to show their spirit by dressing the part for “Western Wednesday,” “Throwback Thursday,” and “North Penn Friday.”

On Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m., students will attend a “black light” pep rally in the Boys Gym at NPHS to get pumped up for the big game! The NPHS Homecoming Black Light Pep Rally will feature performances by the NPHS Dance Team, North Penn Cheerleaders, giveaways, student/teacher competitions and more with the illumination of fluorescent glow sticks and other blackout gear!

Also joining in the hype for homecoming is the North Penn Alumni Association, who will be hosting their third annual Homecoming Tailgate Picnic on Friday, October 9th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Tennis Court Area. NPHS Alumni are encouraged to stop by for a FREE tailgate to include hot dogs, Philly Soft Pretzels, NPHS Cookie Corner Cookies, music, yard games, face painting and raffles to win T-Shirts and two tickets to the Thanksgiving Day Hometown Classic Alumni Flag Football Game! Join the NP Alumni Association for a “knight of fun” at your old stomping grounds before the game! (Pssst. If weather doesn’t hold out, meet them in the Senior Café.)

The week concludes with the 11th Annual North Penn Athletic Alumni Association (NPAAA) Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony held on Saturday, October 10th at 7:00 p.m. Nine individuals and four state championship teams will be inducted into the NPAAA Hall of Fame on Saturday evening among former coaches, teammates, family and friends. The NPAAA was founded in 2000 and established the Hall of Fame to honor and document the history of NPHS’s outstanding athletic accomplishments of the past. Inductees, alumni and their guests are invited to arrive early at 5:00 p.m. to take a tour of their Alma Mater led by current members of the Student Government Association.

NPSD students, families, alumni and members of the North Penn community are encouraged to show off their North Penn pride and join us in this weeklong celebration in any way they can!
