17 of 22 AAUW writing contest winners are NP students

LANSDALE – The North Penn School District is proud to recognize 17 North Penn High School (NPHS) students for their performance in the 2015 American Association of University Women (AAUW) Writing Contest this past February.

 

Each year, the organizers of the AAUW Creative Writing Contest review anonymous pieces of both poetry and prose selections submitted by students in grades 10 through12 attending  NPHS, Souderton High School, Lansdale Catholic High School and Germantown Academy High School.

 

This year, approximately 250 pieces were submitted, and 23 selections written by 22 students were recognized as winners. Of those 22 students, 17 are NPHS students . The winning writing selections were published and presented at an awards ceremony held at the Educational Services Center on April 29 in their honor.

 

The following North Penn students have been named winners:  Abby Mohr (12), Kristi Kurek (12), Melissa Burnley (11), Manpreet Dhankhar (11), Erin Freitas (11), Neil Goh (11), Lauren Helt (11), Angela Hong (11), Joseph John (11), Omar Katta (11), Tavita Khan (11), Joshua Kwak (11), Alex Lavasani (11), Amanda Lee (11), Dominique Mosley (11), Naimisha Rachakanda (11)  and  Chanyeong Park (10).
