PRESIDENT: Carl Hamilton

What do you have to say about being elected president of the Class of 2017?

“I was really, really happy and I’m thankful for all who voted for me and who handed out [guitar] picks, put up posts on Instagram, and all.”

What’s your main goal as president?

“My main goal as president is to form a cohesive class cabinet and do things that get the whole school involved, whether it be a spirit day or fundraiser: things that appeal to a broad mass of people, not just specific groups”

Explain some past experiences that make you the perfect fit as president?

“I was a ninth grade senator last year and I also served in elementary school, so I was able to participate in fundraisers and see just how the whole thing works out. As a senator, I was able to observe the higher leadership there.”

What do you have to say about student involvement in the high school?

“I think it’s just good to be very involved because it really does matter. This is a huge school. It’s good to make your presence known and just participate. It helps the school. It helps the people around you and it helps yourself.”

VICE PRESIDENT: Jessica Selverian

What do you have to say about being elected vice president of the Class of 2017?

“I’m very honored and really thankful for the opportunity I was given and I hope to change the year in a positive way and make sure everyone fits in and is involved in the school in some sort of way.”

What’s your main goal as vice president?

“I think my main goal would definitely be to keep North Penn traditions alive, but to continue the old ones and make them better than what they were.”

Explain some past experiences that make you the perfect fit as vice president?

“I was in student council cabinet and NJHS cabinet, so I think I’m really versatile in that respect. I’ve seen a lot of different things and what people enjoy and what people like and how everyone works. I’ve worked with a bunch of different people so I think I’m qualified for that.”

What do you have to say about student involvement in the high school?

“I think it’s important for everyone again to find who they are in high school and find where they fit in, so I think it’s important to make sure everyone feels included and involved in some sort of way.”

TREASURER: Woo Sek Chung

What do you have to say about being elected treasurer of the Class of 2017?

“I’m really honored to be voted by my class and I plan to obviously lower the price of the class trip and do anything to fundraise for our class.”

What’s your main goal as treasurer?

“[My main goal is] to lower the price of the class trip.”

Explain some past experiences that make you the perfect fit for treasurer?

“I did class cabinet and I was part of a little bit of student government here and there. I just feel like I have leadership based on different experiences.”

What do you have to say about student involvement in the high school?

“I feel we should all be one cohesive unit. We’re all going to be here for three years so we might as well just make a small group.”

Secretary: Caley Moore

What do you have to say about being elected secretary of the Class of 2017?

“I’m so happy that the student body elected me. It means a lot that they believed in me to be able to hold the position. I worked really hard over the past couple years and I’m glad I have a chance to share my abilities.”

What’s your main goal as secretary?

“As secretary, my goal is to keep the meetings and objectives in order. I’m a very organized individual myself so I plan to replicate that into my position. Also, as an officer I want to be a person that people are able to come to, to share their thoughts and ideas about what they would like to see from our school.”

Explain some past experiences that make you the perfect fit as secretary?

“I have been a part of student council for over a year holding a representative position. To expand my skills, I attended a district conference as well as a PASC summer camp, which was amazing. It helped me develop my organization, communication, and writing abilities, which I think has enabled me to hold this position successfully.”

What do you have to say about student involvement in the high school?

“I feel that student involvement could change for the better. If more students participate, the more unity and impact we can bring to our school. Being involved allows people to share their abilities and interests with each other and enhance the spirit of our school.”
