Why Uggs Will Never Go Out Of Style

Why are people saying that everyone’s favorite boots are going out of style? According to Vogue, the Ugg boot is officially back.

You won’t be able to step outside this winter without seeing a parade of women wearing Uggs. They are referred to as the “winter flip-flop”, since people are choosing to wear them throughout the season.

In a study conducted by fashion website, Beso, “35% of US women own more than 20 pairs of shoes, and over a quarter -26 percent- admit that Ugg boots are among those pairs.” Thanks to the obsession and social impact of teenage girls, the Ugg has been an all time favorite of women around the world. People will pay anywhere from $130 to nearly $300 for a pair of these sheepskin booties.

Uggs are made entirely out of the warmest materials, including fluffy wool and sheepskin from Australian mountain sheep. This makes Ugg boots extremely warm and able to trap heat, both great assets for the cold winter weather. There are no other boots as warm and stylish as Uggs, which is why their profits increase over 60% in the winter months and total more than $1.3 billion annually.

Uggs can never go out of style is because society associates a higher price with a perceived higher value. This makes proud Ugg owners want to parade around in their fashionable boots and show their social status as a high class lady. Until the new thing comes out, Ugg will rule over the winter-fall style, continuing to influence more women to purchase them, and keep Uggs as the “hottest thing” this winter (and many to come of course).

Uggs work with so many different styles, they are fashionable and easy to slide on. This winter, throw on a pair of jeans or leggings, a hoodie, and your Uggs and go. Your outfit would be quick, easy, stylish, and all around comfortable. Like walking on a cloud, Uggs make your daily wear so much easier, which is another reason people can’t let go of these sheepskin booties.

In Fashion Trends magazine article, “The Return Of The Ugg Boot,” there is a five-rule style code for pulling off your Uggs:
1. Wear with no make-up.
2. Tracksuit bottoms are off the menu.
3. Be clever with your style choices.
4. They look great with a vintage dress and chunky knit.
5. A long white tunic or tux shirt, bare legs and the black Ugg mini is a strong transitional look.

For the guys out there, Uggs are like Air Jordans, but for women. Nike has been creating Air Jordans since 1984, and they are still in style. And just like Nike produces a different version of Air Jordans each year, Ugg does the same. This tactic is used to make buyers purchase the latest and greatest styles, from knee high boots, to ankle cuts, all produced in a variety of colors and styles.

It is Ugg’s goal to make a boot that appeals to everyone woman. As such, I think it’s safe to say that Uggs will remain one of fashion’s guiltiest pleasures!
