Many networks are turning to the recreation of iconic shows from the 1990’s and 2000’s, much like Boy Meets World into Girl Meets World, Full House into Fuller House, and most recently, That’s So Raven.

It seems that networks such as Disney Channel and ABC are having some issues creating new television shows that convey positive messages for kids, so they have turned to remaking old iconic shows from our 1990’s and 2000’s childhood. Networks are recreating hit shows such as Boy Meets World into Girl Meets World, Full House into Fuller House, and most recently, That’s So Raven is being rebooted.

It’s clear that the high viewer watching rate of old reruns is higher than the viewer rate for currently televised shows, signaling producers to bring back our favorite characters in new shows.

Boy Meets World ended in 2000, but was pitched as a new show, Girl Meets World,  to premiere in 2014. The popular show from the 1990’s demanded more viewers, only this time reaching youth of the 2000’s. The show’s positive message of growing up teaches children proper values and how to act in certain situations.

Main characters Cory Matthews, Topanga Lawrence, and Shawn Hunter have all grown up and play the adult roles in Girl Meets World, teaching children Riley, Auggie, Maya, Lucas, and Farkle about how to grow up and make decisions for themselves, based on their past experiences in Boy Meets World. Not only is this show great for kids of the 2000’s, but 1990’s kids enjoy watching Girl Meets World to see how their favorite childhood characters (Cory, Topanga, and Shawn) teach important life lessons that they’ve learned first hand.

Full House was also a popular show from 1987-1995, and continues to be watched by lovers of family friendly TV shows. After the cast grew up, viewers mourned the ending of their favorite show, signaling red flags to producers to create a new show, Fuller House, based off of the original. This reboot has proven to be quite a hit, as more viewers tune in to watch the show created by Netflix.  Produced by John Stamos who portrayed the role of Uncle Jesse, Fuller House brings back the most memorable and lovable characters and shows how they perform in parenthood.

Raven Symone recently announced her leave on The View to take on upcoming projects such as a reboot on her childhood hit Disney Channel TV show, That’s So Raven. Working with her old producers, Symone is ecstatic for the remake of her hit TV show that made her famous after her days acting in The Cosby Show. The only information released about this new soon-to-be-hit is that Symone will play a single mother of her two children (boy and girl), one of which will inherit Symone’s ability to see the future.

Symone will teach her kids how to keep the power a secret, following the same steps her parents taught her. Some supporting characters of That’s So Raven may also make reappearances in the new show to bring back the best memories from the original episodes. This show is undergoing casting for Symone’s children and other characters, so there is not a definite cast yet. All there is to know so far is that this remake will be great for children now, and those who grew up watching Symone seeing the future.

Forget shows like Best Friends Whenever, and Stuck in the Middle, because favorite childhood characters are returning, only this time instead of learning the lessons, they’re teaching them. Finally, in about ten years, America’s youth will be educated once more on the hardships of growing up and gain knowledge on how to treat others and become a responsible person.
