I’ll speak for the millions of Star Wars fans across the globe by saying that December of 2015 cannot come fast enough.

And it’s too bad entering into hyperspace isn’t quite possible yet to speed that wait up.

But what we enthusiasts have been able to bide our time with is bits of information regarding the content and plot of the new Star Wars VII, or Star Wars: the Force Awakens.

JJ Abrams, the new director for the movie, has been dropping a trail of bread crumbs and its left the fans assured of two things: one, the classic nostalgia of the 70s and 80s won’t be neglected and two, he’s eager to construct a significant new story set chronologically after the previous movies.

The trailer for the movie, released last week, got us fans excited for the new material, revealed some of the new elements he plans to add into Star Wars VII. In the approximately minute and a half long segment, we can see some exciting additions. Amidst an X-wing fighter face lift, a Sith Lord’s custom made hilted-saber, faster droids (about time), and what appears to be a very lost storm trooper, we can pick up the pieces and conclude beyond reasonable doubt that something evil is back. What that is, we’ll find out in a year.

Finalized a while ago, Abrams has also gathered his cast together, all excited for a role in one of the greatest series in Hollywood.

Cast members such as John Boyega, Pip Anderson, Crystal Clarke, Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, and Andy Serkis are among the most prominent new roles.

But back by popular demand (and based on the fact that if they weren’t in it, riots would break out) the old Stars Wars team will be assembled once again for the film. This includes the famed stars Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Anthony Daniels (voice of C-3PO), Kenny Baker (R2-D2), and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca).

And alongside the returning cast are other classic parts, too. I mean, is there any better way to end a Star Wars trailer than with the Millennium Falcon whizzing by two TIE fighters over the sands of Tatooine? That’s enough to give anybody goose bumps.

I’ll admit that I was a little wary about Disney taking over the responsibilities of LucasFilm, but now having seen the trailer, I think most of us have been alleviated of that uncertainty.

So now we wait, for the story that will return to a galaxy near you.
