Local Review: YoJones Fun, Flavorful Frozen Yogurt

Local+Review%3A+YoJones+Fun%2C+Flavorful+Frozen+Yogurt

SPRINGHOUSE-The frozen yogurt frenzy has endured through the winter and is here to stay. With spring on the horizon and the fro-yo lovers’ demands budding, the supplies for such delectables are flourishing (shout out to economist-to-be Matt Morgado). Recently sprouted in Spring House, YoJones offers “fun flavorful frozen yogurt” for all ages to enjoy.

YoJones has all the components of a fro-yo shop: self-service, a rotating selection of eclectic flavors ranging from thin mints to pink lemonade, and a toppings bar with staples such as candy, fresh fruit, granola, and much more.

My taste buds give the shop a definite five stars. However, the overall experience of YoJones falls just a bit short of the standard raised by nearby competitors like Frozen Cow Yogurt and Simply Twisted.

Impeccably clean and bright with daylight, the general atmosphere in Yojones is pleasant, though not very inviting. Although YoJones’ friendly customer service and the visually appetizing color schemes -minty green and pink- seem to be built with the purpose of creating a kid-friendly, family-oriented, and cool place for hanging out, the physical layout of the shop, with its the uniform small round tables, incapable of fitting more than four people, does not make comfortable for a group of more than five, or perhaps a larger audience on the weekends.

Jammed on one side of the shop and leaving a huge space on the other end of the shop unattended, except for the frozen yogurt dispensers on the wall, the small tables with chairs that match the minty green wall are nice, and may not even be a problem for those who are only there for the fro-yo; but for the more nitpicking customers, the lack of variations in furniture and the awkward and rather wasteful open space make the place seem actually “new,” and not quite comfortably “moved in.”

In sum, although the taste is up to par, structurally, YoJones has much room (literally) for improvement.

YoJones is located at 832 N. Bethlehem Pike, Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania 19002.
